Latest Oil Paintings
Hi, art fans,
Today I just wanted to reintroduce my latest seascape oil paintings to you. If you have been following me for a few months you will know that oil paints are actually pretty new to me. In fact, until this year, I had never painted with them before so the whole experience has been a new learning journey.
From what I know so far, I was able to create some beautiful (in my opinion of course) seascape and ocean/water-inspired artworks. I still have so much I need to discover and learn about oil painting but I hope you enjoy the small collection I have been able to achieve so far this year. Enjoy learning a little bit about each piece below. And as always, If you have any questions or comments, please leave them in the comments section at the end of this post, send me a message on Instagram or even send me an email.
Praa Sands. 25cm x 20cm canvas
‘Praa Sands Beach’ is yet again inspired by my love of the Cornwall and Devonshire seascape and also by my favourite beach - Praa Sands. When I was painting this piece there was only one place that kept coming to mind. Praa Sands was one of the very first beaches I fell in love with, it will always have a very special place in my heart.
It is the kind of beach that holds so much inspiration that it’s only natural most of my paintings represent that.
With this piece I wanted to create something completely different to anything I’ve ever painted before. I wanted this to be a piece that really tested my skills as an artist and to see just what I was capable of creating. I’m really pleased with how it turned out and it has already been wonderfully received on social media.
…The Beach. A place of relaxation, rest and tranquillity…’ - unknown.
Wave of Light. 28cm x 36cm
This is definitely one of my top 5 favourite paintings that I’ve ever done. I’m so proud of it - I can’t wait for it to be enjoyed and loved in someone’s lovely home.
With the sun setting in the background, some shimmering rays of light break through the water and shine through the wave highlighting the mystery below.
This is a fun, playful piece that brings joy and calm to the end of the day.
A perfect addition to any home and a wonderful gift to anyone who loves the ocean
“…This is a fun, playful piece that brings joy and calm to the end of the day…”
As the Sea Loves. 30cm Round
With this, I wanted to create a piece that was calm and joyful that invited peace onto the viewer.
Painted on a 30cm round canvas board this piece will give a wonderful porthole look and feel to any space creating a relaxing beach vibe ambience in the room.
Comes complete with a plastic stand for desk or shelf display. If you are displaying this piece on a wall, I highly recommend Command Hooks.
‘…I will love you as the loves, in gentle waves and ferocious storms…’ - unknown.
Sunset On The Ocean 25cm x 20cm
In this piece, I wanted to capture the relaxing mood that you only get when sat on a beach late in the evening just as the sun is going down. For me, Carbis Bay Beach is the perfect place to experience this.
‘…Sunsets are proof that endings can be beautiful too…’ - unknown.
And finally, Harbour Lights. 20cm Round
‘Harbour Lights’ is inspired yet again by my love of the Cornwall and Devonshire seascape and also by one of my favourite places to visit - Penzance harbour. I wanted to create a piece that was calm and playful that invited peace onto the viewer.
‘A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor’ - unknown.
